Timeless imagery is always my favorite form of storytelling. I’ve spent the last several years exploring a multitude of photography genres, from astrophotography and wildlife to weddings and portraits. However, my heart truly lies in capturing landscape and wildlife.
Discovering my passion for photography all began when I got my first passport in 2014. I started traveling the globe and found an intense desire to capture the beauty in those experiences. Which led to owning my first DSLR, shortly after. Culture and the natural world are inspirations for my efforts. I'm Rebecca King, and I am a photographer based out of Wyoming.
When I’m not traveling and taking photos, I’m usually spending time with my favorite local nonprofit, Access Adventure, where we work closely with horses and the community providing various forms of therapy to people with disabilities, veterans, and underserved individuals.
A large part of my life has always been about helping others. Which is why I love photography and nature so much. Inspiring others to see the natural beauty around us is, to me, an important part of photography. Many people can’t physically experience everything they would like to, so I often write a story about the image when I share it online. I explain the sounds I heard, the emotions I felt, and the events that led up to a moment. This is my favorite way to engage with the people who follow my work.
One of my greatest experiences would be living in Yellowstone National Park for six months in 2019. Throughout the summer I developed an intimate connection with the area, enjoyed photographing countless sunrises and sunsets, hiked over 300 miles, and had some of the most surreal wildlife encounters a nature lover could ever dream of. Not to mention the bond that is created with new friends, which is like no other when you’re both in a secluded location without internet to distract you. I will be forever grateful for those friendships that formed, and the unworldly experience Yellowstone gave me. Currently, I'm in my seventh season working and living in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. I provide photo tours throughout winter and summer, with educational interpretation and photography instruction centered on ethical nature and wildlife shooting.
